With Weaver, a dance piece for three female dancers, choreographer Anne-Mareike Hess takes the image of weaving and its inherent creative potential for connection and networking, and transposes it into a choreographic reflection on our contemporary society. The result is a story in which the destiny of the female body is woven into the dense fabric of social coexistence.
Anne-Mareike Hess has been an associate artist at neimënster for the past 3 years. After the solos Warrior (2018) and Dreamer (2021), the trio Weaver is the third dance piece created at neimënster as part of this partnership. In this trilogy, the artist is challenged to assert her own femininity and question the stereotypes associated with women.
