As part of the AU·TOUR DE… programme, artist Yvann Alexandre invites you on an immersive journey into his world and his choreographic writing. After a tailored warm-up, he will open the doors to his new creation N.éon and welcome you into the heart of his imagination — a realm of shadow and light where our relationships with others reveal our shared humanity. Between appearance and disappearance, intimacy and expansion, the feminine and the masculine, solitude and collective connection, N.éon blurs the lines, subtly reshuffles the deck, and unveils a game…
Yvann Alexandre
From the very beginning, Yvann Alexandre’s creative drive has been rooted in human encounters. He starts his processes through transmission, then moves toward the writing of a work. Deeply committed to the writing of movement, and faithful to the notion of the line, he has established himself as a major figure of abstract dance. His highly precise gesture is rich in detail and unfolds like an intimate calligraphy.
He created his first piece in 1993 for Les Hivernales d’Avignon and Montpellier Danse. Alongside his creations—presented on numerous renowned stages and festivals in France and abroad—he is regularly invited by higher education institutions in dance (Paris, Lyon, Québec) and prestigious companies (Nordwest Tanzcompagnie). Named Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres in July 2024, Yvann Alexandre also serves as Delegate Administrator for Dance at the SACD. In addition to his creative work, he is the Artistic Director of Théâtre Francine Vasse in Nantes.
