Joachim Maudet
Originally from Brittany, Joachim Maudet trained at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP) from 2007 to 2012. Alongside his dance training, he studied at Université Paris VIII, earning a degree in Theater Arts and Performance and later in Dance and Choreographic Arts in 2010.
Even before completing his studies, he began his performing career, collaborating with Tatiana Julien on La Mort et l’Extase and Arthur Perole on Divine Hérésie. Eager to explore new horizons, he moved abroad and danced for the Akram Khan Dance Company, Noord Nederlandse Dans, and National Dance Company Wales.
Returning to France in May 2013, he joined Samuel Faccioli and Bérengère Fournier of Compagnie La Vouivre for the young audience project La Belle et Feu. He also collaborated with Christian Ubl at Cie CUBe for Shake It Out. At the same time, he contributed to the creation of The Ephemeral Life of an Octopus by Léa Tirabasso and worked on Arthur Perole’s projects Rock’n Chair, Ballroom, and la BBB. His journey also led him to collaborate with Léonard Rainis and Katell Hartereau of Le Pôle, performing in Every Little Movement, Dance with Dinosaurs, The Perfect Moment, and The WALL. Additionally, he worked with Ambra Senatore on Partita. Alongside these projects, he served as an assistant and external artistic advisor on Scappare by Mathilde Bonicel and Magdalena by Chloé Zamboni.
In 2017, he founded Compagnie Les Vagues, driven by a deep exploration of the relationship and dissociation between body and voice. His first piece, ˈstɔːriz, premiered in 2019, followed by the solo GIGI in 2021 and the trio WELCOME in 2022. In January 2024, he presented KID#1 at KLAP – Maison pour la danse in Marseille.
