Observation is multifaceted, introspective or collective, it allows us to better understand and know what we are given to see.
Annick Pütz will question observation through the use of a Super 8 camera, a medium of expression and impression. In her work-in-progress, En suivant le regard tactile, she will question our sensory approach in a choreography where the gaze will be felt through moving forms and sensitive, intense and subjective contacts that will be documented. But then… ” Is the gaze tactile? Can it touch and be touched?”
Concept & dance : Annick Pütz | Support from Guy Bollendorf, Cornelia Budde | Camera : Eva Radünzel | Production : Rhysom Danz Kollektiv | Support : TROIS C-L – Centre de Création Chorégraphique Luxembourgeois
“Like a quest for what gives rise to movement, I plunge into a marginal universe where sensations dictate the state of the body; instinctively, a form of silence invites listening and self-knowledge,” explains Alexandre Caponigro. With TRA, he will attempt to immerse the audience in an observation of oneself and of the other. The artist wishes to explore the notion of individual and collective identity in a choreographic moment that draws its inspiration from New York House. This danced introspection will offer a journey towards an interiority that reveals a raw and authentic state of self.
Concept, choregraphy & interpretation : Alexandre Caponigri | Music : Daniel « Daneshiro » Hatchi | Production : Compagnie CYPHA | Support : Les Feux de la Rampe – Metz, Ecole Sainte-Thérèse – Metz, TROIS C-L – Centre de Création Chorégraphique Luxembourgeois, Centre de Création Chorégraphique Luxembourgeois & Centre Culturel de La Casa – Rio de Janeiro
Saeed Hani will take us into his new creation INLET for a few moments. This excerpt will offer a glimpse before its premiere on the 13th of October 2022 at the Messehalle Trier.
INLET is about walls. Walls have always played an important role in the history of mankind, whether they are stone or barbed wire walls or walls in people’s heads. They serve as borders, fortresses and sanctuaries. They prevent invaders from entering or inhabitants from leaving. Saeed Hani grew up in the Middle East until the age of 26, where he was confronted not only with physical limits but also with many moral and intellectual limits. One of the reasons he asks the question: How long will the world continue to glorify walls and borders, when they prevent human progress and deprive people of their most basic right: the right to a free life?
