In this short choreographic piece, the dancers explore the effects of traumatic events and the way they influence our cognition, motor skills, communication and social interactions? The piece takes an abstract approach to scientific research into the emotional after-effects of trauma. The movements in transition and the exchanges between the dancers bear witness to the tension generated by these trying experiences.
Choreography: Milena Ugren Koulas | Dancers: Elena Gavriel, Katerina Tylliridou, Magda Argyridou, Anna Nicolaou | Music: George Koulas
> Solo| Duration: 50 min | Spain
This choreographic solo, based on urban dance, questions the possibility of happiness in the face of the chaos of the world. Inspired by the death of the last male northern white rhino, and by observing the last female representatives of the species, Gastón Core explores different styles of urban dance to present the Dancer-Man who dances out of excess as a celebration of life. This show invites us to dance until we’re exhausted, because maybe there’s nothing left to do.
Concept & artistic direction: Gastón Core | Performance: Oulouy | Music: Jorge da Rocha | Lighting design: Ivan Cascon | Stylist: Eva Bernal | Collaboration: Aina Alegre | Coproduction: Sala Hiroshima, Festival Grec de Barcelona | Documentation, photography & video : Alice Brazzit
