Anya Senognoeva Offers a New Professional Contemporary Dance Class – April 7-11, 2025!
Passionate about organic movement, flow, and breath, Anya explores fluidity through research and improvisation. Through play and creative exploration, she seeks to strengthen the body and expand both physical and mental possibilities.
Her approach invites dancers to explore movement phrases and energy-generating material circulating through the body. By incorporating floor work techniques, balances, and acrobatic elements, she encourages a deeper and more diverse movement quality—whether light, strong, soft, or instinctive. Her goal is to provide practical tools that every dancer can integrate into their practice and daily life.
About Anya Senognoeva
Anna (Anya) Senognoeva, born in Russia, studied at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. During her studies, she completed an internship with Ultima Vez and continued collaborating with Ricardo Ambrozio.
After graduating, she worked internationally with various choreographers, including Gregory Maqoma for Companhia Instável, Jean Guillaume Weis, and Eastman with Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. She has also collaborated with Iris Bouche, who inspires her to explore new creative possibilities by working with inclusive and diverse communities.
As an independent artist, Anya teaches ballet, contemporary dance, and repertoire. She also collaborates with musicians such as Sebastian Graams and Colour Collective, creating her own works, including Cello and a Reader and Sur le Chemin, a solo performed outdoors at The Bentway in Toronto.
Recently, she worked with Iris Bouche and toured Nomad/Eastman while developing her artistic vision and creating her own projects, the latest being a dance film she directed.
