Anne-Mareike Hess invites you on Saturday May 24th to explore her artistic practice and approach to bodywork, both in a general sense and in the specific context of her production WARRIOR, which will be presented on May 30, 2025, at Neimënster.
Starting from the idea that the body is a mirror of our society—both shaping and being shaped by it—the workshop will examine the connection between movement, sensation, and emotion. Drawing inspiration from somatic practices, anatomy, and work on presence, improvisation and imagination will be used to bring the entire body, including the face, into motion.
Additionally, the workshop will dive into the world of WARRIOR, exploring the central themes of this solo piece. What does it mean to be strong? Who defines strength? What is our place, and how is that place perceived?
OPEN MOVERS workshops are dance workshops open to everyone aged 16 and over. Each session is led by different choreographers, allowing participants to discover various dance styles and express themselves freely—whether they are passionate dancers looking to refine their technique or beginners curious to experience movement for the first time. Everyone is welcome!
This project is supported by the Œuvre Nationale de Secours de la Grande-Duchesse Charlotte.
