For this new 55+ MOVERS, dancer and choreographer Maya Balam Meyong invites you to explore her artistic universe. Structured around technical, exploratory, and creative exercises, this workshop offers participants the opportunity to refine their movements and develop greater body awareness. Through movement, Maya takes you on a journey where everyone can cultivate self-knowledge and well-being. Expect new sensations, laughter, challenges, and maybe even a few sore muscles!
Originally from Belgium with Cameroonian roots, Maya Balam Meyong is a dancer (currently with the Akram Khan Company), creator, and artistic director of the movement-based art collective The Dancing Society. After moving to New York, where she joined the CR Dance Company, Maya was deeply influenced by the Gaga movement language, physical theater, and her own personal research on movement.
The goal of 55+ MOVERS is to create a welcoming and inspiring environment where everyone can progress at their own pace while sharing a collective and creative experience.
This project is carried out with the support of L’Œuvre Nationale de Secours de la Grande-Duchesse Charlotte.
