Each edition of TalentLAB brings together a range of emerging artists and projects. The diversity of crafts, talents and forms of expression offers a broad spectrum of creativity. A meeting with this year’s project leaders will embrace this diversity by creating a cross-disciplinary moment, a bridge between different artistic worlds. The evening will continue with 3 DU TROIS presenting two ‘work in progress’ projects.
Isaiah Wilson and Sarah Baltzinger explore what connects us, holds us back, hinders us, manufactures us and touches us to trace the burning and visceral trajectory of desire and need for the other. MEGASTRUCTURE weaves with curiosity the trajectory of two bodies in constant cohabitation whose movement forms strange and perilous associations. Using a variety of choreographic devices and motifs, the choreographic duo seize on the myth of the couple to take a multi-faceted look at the different issues involved in a love relationship, approaching it in the form of a strange association that is constantly in the making.
In the form of a quintet driven by the creative energy of hip-hop, the Relevant company aims to explore the notion of identity and individuality within a group. The individual is constructed and nourished by the collective, from the individual identity to that established in opposition to the various members of a social constellation. The particularities, qualities and movements of each dancer will be highlighted as an ode to difference, while questioning the roles of each as well as the interpersonal relationships, behaviours and tensions that may emerge. The choreography illustrates a whole prism of notions, from support to betrayal, from success to failure.
