Since the early 2000s, Yuval Pick has created more than twenty choreographic works. Their writing is based on a “matrix” or method, called Practice, which is both a philosophy of the body and a set of new experiences of the self. From piece to piece, from experimentation to research, Practice gradually takes shape as another way of dancing, inviting the dancers to another perception of their bodies and to a new state of mind freed from certain habits.
Practice proposes to leave the beaten track of dance, to find in each movement its organic and intimate depth. It invites everyone to (re)discover their own singular body identity, as well as a freer relationship to space and to others. With Practice, it is no longer just a question of a trajectory to follow, a posture to hold, or a technical gesture to execute (in a certain “oblivion of self”), but of setting the internal as well as the external in motion, and of intentional actions, marked by subjectivity. I do not perform a dance or a movement, but, in dancing, I involve myself and create new relationships between inside and outside, and within my own bodily “inside”. The action takes place both inside and outside of me, and in between.
Director and choreographer of the Centre National Chorégraphique de Rillieux-la-Pape. Appointed as the head of the CCN of Rillieux-la-Pape in August 2011, Yuval Pick has a long career as a performer, teacher and choreographer. Trained at the Bat-Dor Dance School in Tel Aviv, he joined the Batsheva Dance Company in 1991, which he left in 1995 to embark on an international career with artists such as Tero Saarinen, Carolyn Carlson and Russell Maliphant. In 1999 he joined the Ballet de l’Opéra National de Lyon before founding his own company, The Guests, in 2002. Since then, he has created works marked by an elaborate writing of movement, accompanied by important collaborations with musical composers and where, in a form of ritual, the dance proposes a balance that is constantly called into question between the individual and the group.

Seduced by the belief that a strong, fierce man is all that is needed to get things done and save the world, Anne-Mareike Hess embarks on a solo journey to become a warrior. Within a distorted yet gentle soundscape emerges a deeply poetic image of human frailty and inner brokenness. A dancing body caught in a perpetual battle with its emotions.
Anne-Mareike Hess works as a choreographer and dancer in contemporary dance. She studied at the Conservatory and TROIS C-L in Luxembourg, at the HfMDK in Frankfurt and at the HZT Inter-University Centre for Dance in Berlin (Master in Choreography). Anne-Mareike Hess focuses on the body with a great capacity for analysis and precision. She is interested in bodies on the edge, touching physical and psychological boundaries in search of transformation.
Anne-Mareike’s choreographies have been presented at various festivals in Europe and Canada. In 2008, she was part of the international exchange project “Dance Roads” and was invited to the Festival Repérages in Lille. Her productions I believe that we are having a dialogue, Tanzwut and Synchronization in process have toured in many venues and festivals throughout Europe.
In 2017, she created Give me a reason to feel, a commission from the Théâtre d’Esch and the Grand Théâtre de la Ville de Luxembourg. In 2018 she created Warrior, her first solo, corrodait by neimënster (LU), Skogen (SE) and Weld (SE). Warrior was selected by Aerowaves Twenty2020. In 2020 she is preparing a new solo entitled Dreamer, the premiere of which has been postponed to 2021. Currently she is working on Through the wire, a project that features one-on-one telephone conversations.
In 2012, Anne-Mareike received the Emerging Artist Award from the Stiftung für Förderung juger Talent (LU) and the Danzpräis from the Luxembourg Ministry of Culture.

Emese Cuhorka and Csaba Molnár’s duet MASTERWORK is based on cultural references and whimsical movements. Through a series of vignettes, the piece explores the ways in which the body can rid itself of the cultural meanings and symbols that have been imposed on it over time. Using objects as movement-blocking costumes, the body reshapes its autonomy in a flurry of functional obstructions. Our body is a unique masterpiece, created by ourselves and by the environment. By modifying the body, Cuhorka and Molnár manipulate the environment and invoke the freedom to redefine.
Dancer, teacher and choreographer Emese Cuhorka graduated from the Budapest Contemporary Dance Academy in 2011. She has worked with Adrienn Hód since 2007 and is a member of Hodworks since 2009. Interested in experimenting with performance forms and formats, Cuhorka collaborates with theatre companies such as TÁP Színház, Dollár Papa Gyermekei and she regularly teaches contemporary dance and improvisation for amateurs and professionals. She has been working on movement research with László Fülop for more than ten years and develops with Csaba Molnár the artistic recontextualisation of subcultures. As a performer and co-creator, Emese Cuhorka has participated in six Rudolf Lábán Award-winning works in Hungary. The production Sea Lavender in collaboration with Symptoms Company won the Special Award at the Hungarian Theatre Critics Awards 2016. The documentary about the rehearsals of this play, entitled The Euphoria of Being won the main prize at the Locarno Film Festival and the Human Rights Prize at the Sarajevo Film Festival. Emesa has danced in Hodwork pieces that have been in the Aerowaves selection.
Dancer and choreographer Csaba Molnár strives to reconcile radical extremes. His main interest is to explore how different modes of expression, when juxtaposed, can transform the most intimate phenomena of human life into a universal and liberating theatrical experience. He began his professional training at the Budapest Contemporary Dance Academy and completed his dance training with a two-year programme at P.A.R.T.S in Brussels. He then joined the Italian dance company Compagnie Virgilio Sieni and in 2010 became a member of the Hungarian company Hodworks. Molnár worked as a co-creator of the Bloom! collective. As an artist in residence he worked with the students of the Budapest Contemporary Dance Academy and created the piece for the EN-KNAP Group (68). He participated in “HOM” at TanzMainz. His own choreographic works include KITTY2012, Decamero and Theox. Together with choreographer Marcio Kerbere Canabarro, he launched the artistic project Sildenafil Fairy with which they presented Tropical escape, EYE Candy and Winter Journey. Csaba Molnar is the co-creator of eight pieces that received the Rudolf Laban Award for the best Hungarian contemporary dance of the season and has performed and co-created six pieces that were selected by Aerowaves.
