3 du TROIS | WORK IN PROGRESS – OCTOBER 26

On the third day of each month, TROIS C-L | Maison pour la danse organizes Les 3 DU TROIS, an exceptional cultural event featuring a multidisciplinary artistic program that seeks to rethink and question society and the choreographic arts.

During these evenings, artists are invited to present their work and share their reflections on various themes following a period of residency and/or research. These events offer an opportunity to discover contemporary dance from a different angle and in various forms. The warm and less formal atmosphere encourages encounters and exchanges with the artists.

DANSE | The Perfect Moment – Matteo Sedda (Belgique)

Matteo Sedda brings together the world of American photographer Robert Mapplethorpe and the court dances of the Italian-French Renaissance. These dances share with the work of this controversial artist, who lived with HIV, the same codes of perfection and hypnotic imagery.

DANSE | Bolero Fantaisies – Julia B. Laperrière (Canada)

This research project explores Maurice Béjart’s iconic Boléro, historically performed by his partner Jorge Donn. Julia B. Laperrière reinterprets the work, revealing its deeply queer roots, dusting it off from its image as an ode to masculinity, and challenging the heteronormative codes of dance.

VIDÉO-DANSE | Lux Est – Maya Balam Meyong (Luxembourg)

It is 2094, in a sanitised museum where the Earth has become a relic. A man in search of a different meaning encounters matter and time in a disorienting way: the Gardener. Through choreography, music and moving image, Lux Est questions the virtualisation of our existence and invites us to return to the living world and celebrate it.
