Art Factory International is a creative platform for dance research and education based in the vibrant city of Bologna, Italy. The platform offers a knowledge intensive Contemporary Dance Program that provides professional training in different dance disciplines, including daily classes of classical and contemporary dance, choreographic composition and improvisation.
Art Factory International believes in the fundamental impact of cultural exchange for the education of contemporary dance artists. Their vision aims to explore what contemporary dance can be and do for our society in such particular epoch. That’s way they bring to their students the most intriguing and thought-provoking dance repertoire from internationally renowned choreographers and artists. Their aim with the platform is to create a space where every student can experiment and challenge her/himself and discover their own creative path while maintain a rigorous and open mind.
In 2018, a cooperation starts between TROIS C-L and Art Factory International. The choreographer invited to give a masterclass at TROIS C-L was Eduardo Torroja, whereas two artists from Luxembourg, Iléana Orofino and Piera Jovic, went to Bologna. In 2019, choreographer Jos Baker came to give a masterclass at TROIS C-L in May, and the collaboration will continue next year. Jill Crovisier went to Bologna in February 2020 to continue her research work with her JINJEON project with the students of the Art Factory International. Between artistic residency and training program for future professionals, Jill Crovisier also gave an amateur workshop and presented a work-in-progress of JINJEON on February 15 at the Modern Art Museum in Bologna.
