Adaptation is inspired by Franz Kafka’s “A Report For an Academy” and the life of Kaspar Hauser. In this diptych, the two characters, a monkey on its way to civilisation and a young wild boy who lived shut off from civilisation until he turned sixteen, are transplanted into today’s society. Confronted with the paradoxes of society, they seek a balance between adaptation and autonomy.
With Adaptation, Sandy Flinto and Pierrick Grobety have created a piece that is performed to the rhythm of the music, tinged with absurdity and reflections on freedom within contemporary society.
