A Bernard Baumgarten & Patrick Muller Creation | International Premier

dan/ce = m/usic = da/nce = musi/c is a piece for two dancers, interacting with digital programming of a sound creation. The choreographer, Bernard Baumgarten and the sound designer, Patrick Muller have got together for this multidisciplinary creation which overturns the fixed idea that dance is dependent upon the rigid monologue of the music. Here it is the turn of the dancer to generate the music, via a system of interaction between the movement of the dancers’ bodies and the sound creation. What you get is not a composition of random sounds in an arbitrary order, but a harmonised piece that is full of meaning.
