VÉNUS ANATOMIQUE invites us to enter a Venus factory, where identical, kit-like, fragmented and mechanical bodies are assembled in a major surgical operation to create a single model of the ideal Venus. Inspired by popular culture, mythology and the different versions of Venus manufactured and transformed throughout our history, Sarah Baltzinger invites us to question our gaze in a choreography that deconstructs the female body. VÉNUS ANATOMIQUE is a study of the female body, the way it is viewed, its shackles and its staging.
